The Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society, Warwickshire, has a thriving membership of local farmers who live and work in the area. As with so many farming communities, an important highlight of the calendar is the local agricultural show, where rosettes and cups in the livestock classes are hard-won and celebrated with pride. In 2017 a new competition was introduced: the Champion Lamb Carcass Competition, which places not only the living lamb but the quality of the final carcass too. In November 2017, Special EFX was asked by the Society to craft a brand new, perpetual trophy, contemporary in style and worthy of the new event.
Richard and Sheila Cole are sponsors of the new competition and the agricultural trophy. The design features the Society’s logo engraved onto nickel plated aluminium, framed within an elegant, outer band and mounted on a sapele plinth. The first ever winner of the trophy is MM Clarke and Sons and on April 25th 2018 three generations of the farming family proudly received the trophy from Sheila Cole.
An agricultural trophy with a local pedigree
The new trophy has been warmly received by all involved. The Society reports: “We were delighted to find EFX virtually on the doorstep, we visited their premises and were assigned to Sarah who took us through the whole design and production process, listening to our thoughts and together with Rich, the trophy designer, turned ideas into reality. We were delighted with the whole process and were amazed at the kinds of awards EFX were producing for a wide range of clients, they were absolutely stunning in design and craftsmanship. We would most certainly use EFX again, and recommend them highly for their professional approach to clients and high quality and unique awards.”
