Anthony Martial Wins Carabao Cup Man of the Match

The recent third round of football’s Carabao Cup has thrown up some headline results with Bristol City beating Stoke City and Liverpool losing to Leicester on the opening night. The first of 20 Carabao Man of the Match shields was presented to Anthony Martial of Manchester United which beat Burton Albion in a match screened live on Sky Sports. The shield is a bespoke design and manufactured for the tournament by Special EFX.

The tournament attracts massive crowds and is a major event in the England Football League’s season. The brief for the new design of trophy for the Man of the Match shields specified that it should build brand awareness of Carabao the energy drink and be of a size suitable to achieve excellent TV exposure. EFX fulfilled the brief by prominently featuring the Carabao full colour logo and strapline on both the shield and plinth.  Manufactured in polished nickel plated aluminium, the shape of the shield is entirely consistent with the brand’s logo and the graphics are digitally printed, a technique which ensures 100% precision and clarity, to match the brand’s key visual.

Carabao is delighted with the shields: “EFX responded to the brief very quickly and with numerous design options. The trophies were a good price and the service was great”.
